The Reel Health International Short Film Festival is an innovative concept in health communication. Founded in 2013, the festival recognises the power of film as a platform for people to tell real stories of health and how they affect the community.
Reel Health strips back the clichés of health and well-being in contemporary media and provides an opportunity for talented filmmakers to display their talents in a night of engaging entertainment.
Submissions are encouraged from talented filmmakers across the world, with the opportunity to win cash prizes and awards across a series of themed categories. Selected films will be screened at official events for the general public and health industry representatives.
The festival aims to promote a greater awareness of genuine health-related issues affecting individuals and the health industry. Reel Health welcomes films of all genres; however, it is not a platform for health-based services to distribute corporate films of self-promotion – any such films will not be considered.
All films must be 15 minutes or under.
Submissions will be judged on artistic merit and the effectiveness to communicate a genuine health message. The judging panel consists of notable identities from the health and artistic communities.
